Program
The Newport County Youth Chorus is an after-school community chorus program for young singers in grades 1 through 6. There is no audition and no previous musical experience is necessary to participate—just a love of singing! The Newport County Youth Chorus programs empower kids to grow as musicians in a fun and safe environment.
Weekly rehearsals include vocal development that is appropriate to the singers’ age and ability, individual attention in small classes, and musicianship study (music reading and understanding). This occurs in the context of a diverse music selection (genre, languages, cultures, time periods, religions), and in an environment that values both teamwork as well as each individual’s unique contribution to our ensemble’s success.

Classes are offered weekly in Newport and Middletown; choose which day and location works best for you. In addition, Newport Sings offers programs for students in grades 1 - 8 in partnership with after-school programs across Aquidneck Island.
6-week sessions for students in grades 1 - 6
